Scaled up to 41mm from its 39mm predecessor, this steel Royal Oak Selfwinding gives Gérald Genta's original design a bolder presence. For collectors who want that legendary silhouette sized for today's wrists, it balances extra scale with a slim, understated feel. Presents itself in mint condition with little to no signs of wear. Set against a black Grande Tapisserie dial, white gold applied hour markers and Royal Oak hands carry a luminescent coating for easy reading in low light. Framed by a steel octagonal bezel and its eight signature screws, brushed surfaces meet high-polished edges that catch the light from every angle. Draped across the wrist, the integrated steel bracelet is a highly complex piece of manufacturing in its own right. Functions include hours, minutes, seconds, and date. The screw-locked crown on the right side of the case unscrews into its first position, where turning it winds the movement toward its roughly 60-hour power reserve. Pulled out one notch, the crown quick sets the date, so set it to the day before today. Pulled fully out, the crown moves the hands, so roll them past midnight until today's date appears and stop on the correct time. Inside runs the in-house Calibre 3120, and the case is rated to 50 meters of water resistance, so screw the crown back down after setting. Comes as a full set, boxed with warranty documentation. Since retired and succeeded by the 15500, this reference now belongs to the Royal Oak's collectible history rather than the current catalogue. For the collector drawn to icons in their earlier form, it is a confident piece worth a closer look.
